News of 2017 filming

If you haven't read the filming wishlist, here are the up to date filming plans so far:

Drivers' eye views

Newcastle to Carlisle has been authorised by Northern Rail and will be filmed between June and July.

Nottingham to Skegness via Grantham has also been authorised by East Midlands Trains. Much of the route from Grantham is still block section signalled with semaphores, due to be re-signalled from York within the next couple of years.

First Great Western has requested cab filming of the Cardiff Valleys and Vale of Glamorgan lines. Killing two birds with one stone, we hope to make the resultant cab filming available as another Driver's eye view. Arrangements have yet to be made.

The fabulous HD footage of a wide variety of steam locations in South Africa taken over the last 3 years by Jean Dulez will form the basis of a steam spectacular. This is in production currently but no release date available yet.

Finally, Video 125 has been contracted by Northern Rail to film the Settle & Carlisle on the re-opening day following the repair of the landslip at Eden Brow (north of Armathwaite). We will probably publish this on our YouTube channel. Of course we have a DEV of the whole line from Skipton filmed a few years back including aerial footage.
