All four volumes (2 x DVDs in space-saving slim cases, or 4 x video downloads) for one special offer price.

Shot by the major film studios from the 1930s to the 1960s, these railway scenes are unique. Railways from this era were never filmed in higher quality than on the standard cinema 35mm film stock.

Originally released by Video 125 on videocassette as four separate volumes, they are available individually to download or now combined onto just two DVDs.

Volume 1

Highlights include various GWR locations in England and Wales, Euston main line 1948, Waterloo main line 1941, a driver's view of Newcastle in 1930, King's Cross (taken for the feature film The Ladykillers) 1955.

Volume 2

Includes out-takes from the Titfield Thunderbolt, miscellaneous GWR, the ECML 1930s, Euston 1948, Glasgow 1961, Waterloo 1965/67. Plus much more!

Volume 3

Highlights include out-takes from classic feature films such as Brief Encounter (LMS) and The 39 Steps. The first version of the latter (filmed in black and white) shows LNER arrivals and departures from Edinburgh Waverley in 1935. The second (in colour) also features action at Waverley as well as on the Forth Bridge in 1958. There is even a guard's eye view of a departure from Waverley (also in colour from 1958).

Volume 4

Features single shots as well as entire sequences from the GWR, LMS, LNER and Southern. There is a delightful series of runbys on the GWR at Heyford in Oxfordshire, Paddington in the 1930s, departures from St Pancras in 1938 (many including assistance in the rear) LNER arrivals at Leicester Central in the 1940s and Southern action at both Victoria and Waterloo. There are 110 clips in part four alone!
