Acton Depot Open Day, September 2023

Posted by Paul Annett on

This weekend, we've bought our tickets and are heading east to explore London's transport heritage, as we visit Transport for London's Acton Depot Open Day.

One of TfL's best-kept secrets is the Acton Depot. Normally off-limits to the public, the Acton Depot opens its doors three times a year, offering curious minds a rare glimpse into London's public transport history.

Picture a vast warehouse brimming with historic buses, vintage Tube carriages, ticket machines, old signs, and all kinds of memorabilia. It's a treasure trove of transport history, which is a delight for transportation enthusiasts, history buffs, and families seeking a distinctive and educational day out.

Transport for London's Acton Depot Open Day offers a unique opportunity to explore history and innovation, reminding us of how London's transport system has been an integral part of the city's identity for generations.

If you haven't been before, or want to go again, tickets are still available.
